Charles T. Cyr

BEARSVILLE, NY: Charles Timothy Cyr, 76, of Wittenberg Rd., died Tuesday May 24, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Hospital.  Tim was born in Boston, MA to the late Gilman N. Cyr and Theresa O’Donnell Cyr.  He graduated from Purdue University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics.  Following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Tim joined IBM, where he spent his career.  Tim was a member of St. John’s Parish in West Hurley, NY, where he served as a lector, eucharistic minister, and religious education teacher.  He was a volunteer firefighter with the Woodstock Fire Department, Company 2, and served on the board of The Children's Home of Kingston.  Tim was a car enthusiast and enjoyed ballroom dancing, hiking, music, good food, and traveling.

Tim was a loving husband of 49 years to Rosemary; caring father to Michele Cyr of Astoria, NY, Kate Cyr of London, England, and Brendan (Chia Yi Lin-Cyr) Cyr of Brooklyn, NY; brother to Michael, Paul, Mary and Elizabeth Cyr. He was predeceased by his brother Peter.

His funeral procession will form Wednesday 9am at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., Cor. of John Lafayette Sts., Saugerties, thence to St. John’s RC Church, in West Hurley, where a 10am a mass of Christian Burial will be offered.  Burial will follow in the Woodstock Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7pm.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Michael J.
