WOODSTOCK - David W. Baggett, 72, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 16, 2025. Born January 1, 1953 in Xenia, Ohio, he was the son of the late Arthur Guy and Mary Baggett. He resided in Woodstock for many years after retiring as a Professor of Environmental Science and Agriculture at Modesto College in California. David was a devoted husband to Tina Grill, a proud father to Lane Baggett of Baltimore and Emily Baggett of Oregon, and a beloved brother to Art and Steve Baggett. He also leaves behind many grandchildren who brought him immense joy: Ezra, Angel, Abigail and step-grandchildren Ella, Evan, Arlo, and Althea.
A lifelong music lover, David found great joy not only in playing but also in building instruments by hand. He had a zest for life and a spirit of adventure, spending his happiest days exploring the outdoors, gardening, and traveling. David was a knowledgeable winemaker and delighted in the process behind every bottle. He will be remembered for his deep love of family and the kindness he shared with everyone and everything around him.
A private celebration of his life will be held by his family. Memorial donations can be made to organizations supporting spinal cord injury or Parkinson's disease.
