George L. France

PALENVILLE - George L. "Pops" France,  70, died thursday August 29th, 2024 at the Mid Hudson Regional Hospital. He was born on March 6, 1954 in Kingston to the late Earl and Marion Terwilliger France. George was a dispatcher for Woodstock Police and Fire Dept. for 32 years. He helped develop a portion of the  emergency computer equipment used during that time period. He was a long time officer of Woodstock Fire Co. #1, and later an officer in the Centerville fire district

Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, the former Debra Sylvester; two sons, George D. (Ali Keefe) of Shady and Christopher R. (Demi Politis) of Saugerties; seven grandchildren

Brynlee and Colton France (Christopher), Preston and Bryson France,Savanna Davide, Marianna and Emily Giordano (George) and eight siblings.

 In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two siblings Randy and Earl (Tyke)

His Funeral Service will be 8pm Friday, September 13 at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc. Visitation will be prior to the service from 6-8 pm.
