WOODSTOCK……Rudolph John Stutzmann, entered into eternal life June 25, 2023 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in Manhattan NY. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Letitia (Carney) Stutzmann. A retired funeral director and President of R. Stutzmann and Sons Funeral Home in Queens, NY, and a member of the NYS Funeral Directors Association and the Metropolitan Funeral Directors Association.
Rudy served as a trustee from 1967-2007 at the Ridgewood Savings Bank, a bank that was founded by his grandfather, who served as the 1st Chairman and President. Rudy was immensely proud and conscious of his role in carrying out family tradition in this respect. Ridgewood Savings honored him with the title of Trustee Emeritus from 2007 till his death.
Rudy was a loving father to Grace, Karen (Drum) and R.J. He was installed in the Order of the Holy Sepulchre at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Rudolph was a graduate of Washington and Lee University where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. In addition to soaring, Rudolph loved dogs, golf, skiing, Soduko, and completing the NY Times Sunday crossword puzzle. His greatest passion, however, was hearing about the events and accomplishments in the lives of those he loved.
Rudoph is survived by his three children, Grace E Stutzmann and her husband Manuel Montez of Lake Forest IL., Karen L Drum and her husband Bryan M. of Mont Vernon, NH, R.J. Stutzmann and his wife Christina of Glens Falls, NY, five grandchildren, Kendyl, Miles, and Caroline Drum and Madeline and Braden Montez, and his beloved sister Joan Fox Miller of Warrenton, VA. Rudolph was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte (Mause). The family is deeply grateful for the love and special care James Cobb and Tom Penny provided for him.
His Funeral Procession will form 9:15 AM Saturday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties thence to St. John’s RC Church, Holly Hills, Woodstock where at 10:00 AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered.
Friends will be received at Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties, NY, on Friday, June 30th , 6:00PM- 8:00 PM. Interment will be held 11:00 AM, Monday in Flushing Cemetery, Queens, NY.
