Virginia J. Snyder

WOODSTOCK….. Virginia J. Snyder, 93, died Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Saugerties, New York.  Virginia was born in 1929 in East Orange, NJ to the late Peter and Jessamine Murphy.    She was predeceased by her husband Clarence and sister Patricia.

An area resident for many years, she was a co-founder with Clarence of the Bach Festival, now known as the White Mountain Musical Arts: Bach Festival in The Mount Washington Valley, New Hampshire. She was also a passionate choral member and soloist contributing her voice to lead multiple choirs.

She is survived by four daughters, Karen, Christine, Miriam and Kimberly and two sons, Paul and Kevin, along with her nephew Peter.   She was fondly known as Mema to her 12 beloved grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.   Family suggests donations in her memory be made to Family of Woodstock

A memorial service will be held at a later date.   Arrangements are under the direction of the Lasher Funeral Home.
